Position: Maintenance Technician
Length: Hourly, Full Time Position
Salary: Salary Based Upon Experience
Position Summary:
Perform and assist in facility-wide mechanical and electrical, as well as general building, maintenance and repair needs while maintaining continuous safety, productivity, and quality standards. Successes of the Maintenance Technician are measured via the following key indicators:
- Fulfilling internal customer requests for repair and maintenance of facility-wide needs
- Maintaining the PM schedule in order to maximize efficiency, “up-time,” and life of all machinery and equipment
- Utilizing knowledge and history to apply predictive maintenance strategies to further maximize efficiency, “up-time,” and life of all machinery and equipment
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized facility
- Completing and submitting paperwork timely and accurately
Position Responsibilities:
- Trouble-shoot and perform a variety of building maintenance tasks, primarily mechanical and electrical, but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, building/ grounds upkeep, building electrical, and machine preventative and predictive maintenance
- Back up Maintenance Mechanics, provide assistance and/or guidance, and work as a team handling all maintenance requests successfully
- Back up Department Manager on an as needed basis; available for 24/7 service
- Review calendar and project list and communicate with department managers to check the needs for repairs and maintenance
- Read and follow through with PM Program Packet, reviewing notes, special requirements, determine any further actions needed, and file at the machine
- Use judgment and make educated decisions to decide priorities and scheduling of repairs/maintenance, i.e., know when to call subcontractor
- Handle contract negotiations with sub-contractors, assign projects, monitor performance, and follow through completion
- Use rigging equipment and supplies, i.e., chains, slings, etc., and set up a rigging procedure on equipment
- Operate fork truck with up to 15 ton capacity
- Work with outside technicians as a team to assist job completion
- Break down existing machinery and/or equipment, able to move and set up in new location, trouble-shoot the operation, and put machinery and/or equipment back in operational mode for production
- Operate equipment after a repair to test mode of machine for safety, quality, and productivity standards of operational mode
- Use reference materials and apply information as needed to determine next steps
- Trouble-shoot general hydraulic and pneumatic repairs as needed
- Read schematics, prints, sketches
- Interpret American and European electrical standards
- Perform arc and tig welding as needed
- Convert standard and metric measurements
- Use hand tools, powered tools, and specialty tools
- Complete paperwork as required, i.e., time sheets, RMO forms, SQMPs
- Travel as needed
- Perform all Maintenance Mechanic tasks
- Work as a team with other department members to complete assigned projects
- Exercise multi-tasking skills throughout the shift
- Communicate with coworkers as needed and supervisor(s) to receive instructions and coordinate activities
- Follow other job-related instructions and perform other tasks as requested

Ideal candidates possess:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 10+ years facility maintenance experience required, including experience with hands-on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics
- 5+ years experience with building/ground maintenance, including general plumbing and carpentry; small engine repair preferred but not required
- Fork truck experience required
- Capable to administer basic math skills and utilize basic measuring instruments
- Good communication skills—verbal and written
- Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office
